Is it Safe to Freeze Meats for a long period of time?!
Answers: Im wanting to buy meats like ground chuck, chicken, pork in bulk but i want to have the extended shelf life, is it any good also if you keep it in the freezer for that long, Let me know what you think!.
There are rules on freezing meats. Some have longer lives than others. Some can be frozen for up to a year others not so long.

I freeze mine all the time. All you need to do is take it out of the packaging it is in and put it into a ziploc baggie and make sure that all the air is squeezed out to prevent freezer burn that will make you throw the food out.
they say 1 year if frozen at all times, no power outages etc.
the time for frozen meats are different. for instance you can freeze beef longer than you can chicken. you will need to get you a chart for frozen meet. contact a meat packer and they will be able to tell you where to get one. Or usually in the back of a meat cookbook they have such charts.
