How can I make leftover mashed potatoes taste good?!

Question: NOTE*** I don't have any cheese, and I don't have a microwave

Answers: NOTE*** I don't have any cheese, and I don't have a microwave

Fried potato cakes
1 egg
2 tablespoons flour
1/2 teaspoon salt ( if they were salted already go easy)
1/2 teaspoon pepper (same here)
1 tablespoon grated onion ( or use scallions )
3 cups mashed potatoes

Beat egg; add flour, salt, pepper, and onion. Stir lightly into potatoes. Drop mixture by spoonfuls onto a hot skillet. Brown cakes on both sides. Serve immediately.

Make a shepherd's pie if you don't own a microwave.

Grease a casserole dish, put the leftover mashed tates in, makes some holes & pour a lil milk into the holes. Bake uncovered at 350oF for about 1/2 hr to 45 mins. The top will get a nice golden brown.

Or, make patties out of them, coat w/ flour, & saute in butter in a pan on the stove.

Bon appetite!

Get a frying pan, put some butter in it and fry up the mashed potatoes tell golden brown.

Get a splash of milk, then mix into the potato to stop it being dry. Then add some pepper and mix that in. Heat it up in the oven if you can, then boil the kettle and make some gravy!
If you are talking about cold mash leftovers then you can always do the same but without the heating in the oven!

if you have some eggs, make potato pancakes. mix the eggs into the potatoes then fry them up like dollar size pancake, if you have beacon fry it first & use the grease to fry them in. add chopped chive or green onion if you like & to taste!

1 egg to ever 1 cup of potato!

I also was to mention the recipes as did the others but if you simply want to reheat your mashed pot. melt some butter, heat on low w/ some milk/ cream . Keep stirring.
So are we having leftover mashed for lunch?

Make potato pancakes! Mix your l/o potatoes w/ an egg, maybe some grated onion, salt and pepper, and if you have it, another fresh potato, grated. Mix it all together. Make little patties and fry in a bit of oil in a nonstick skillet. When golden brown, flip pancake once. Drain on paper towels. Serve w/ sour cream and applesauce to garnish. I always make extra mashed potatoes JUST so I can do thisw/ the leftovers!

My mom used to fry bacon crisp, and fry chopped onion and mix them in the left over mashed potatoes. She would crumble the bacon after she cooked it, mix it with the sauteed onion and then heat them in the oven at 350 for about a half an hour, or until they start to brown around the edges. They are so good...

Enjoy!

This is so easy! I hate microwaved potatoes!!!
They have an awful taste and consistency!
This is what I do and they taste like fresh!
Take you a sauce pan and put in a few inches of water and bring to a boil. Then set your bowl of cold mashed potatoes on top of the boiling water. Lower the heat and let it sit and stir once you see they are starting to heat up. Sir every few minutes until they have completely heated up.

Add Milk and then bring out the mixer!

I add some onion, or onion salt, bacon bits and then toss it in the oven with some butter on top, heat until warm.

Well, if made right in the beginning, it will already taste good. Just put back on the stop and reheat and then add seasoning and maybe some type of meat.

I fry them on the stove with a bit of butter and add salt and pepper.

add a little milk and butter, stir in and bake to reheat. season with salt and pepper.

add ranch dressing,

Make them into potato cakes.
