I have a chicken recipe and it calls for cider vinegar is it ok if i use plain vinegar instead?!

Question: does it really matter if i use regular vinegar instead of cider vinegar.

Answers: does it really matter if i use regular vinegar instead of cider vinegar.

Cider vinegar is the brown kind and is a bit milder and a bit more sweet than clear vinegar. There is not a big difference in them if you only use a small amount in your recipe. ( I guess if it calls for a cup, then there would be a difference, in a couple Table spoons, not so much.) You could just use clear in the same amount, or add a pinch of sugar and substitute a few drops of water for a few drops of the clear. But I would just use it as is.

yes it's ok but will change the taste

Cider vinegar has a very distinct taste. If you want the same taste as the recipe offers, you wont get it if you use regular vinegar. Good luck.

Good question.

Cider vinegar is a bit milder than plain white but shouldn't make a major difference.
