Do enamel lined cast iron dishes burn food in the oven?!
do i need to cook it on low or stir during cooking?
i was gonna leave it cooking for around 2 hours or a bit less, will it burn in that time or should i stir it now and then?
i dont wanna stir it too much cos the pan is so heavy and filled right up xxxxxxxxxxx

Burning is usually a matter of too much heat too fast.
Usually with oven casseroles, you do not stir them.
Try the oven setting recommended for the recipe and see what happens this time.
Seriously, learn your oven and how to control it is is part of cooking.
Your new cast iron cookware will not get any hotter than any other type of dish you might use.
Follow the recipe and do not stir it. Two hours seems like a REALLY long baking time for a casserole. What kind of casserole is it? And, how deep is this new pot? Casseroles need to be baked in very shallow dishes. If your casserole is more than 2 inches deep, you probably will have problems.
not sure what kind of casserole you are making but if you had to line the pot with rice we always liked the rice to get a little crispy on the edges...... how long did the directions say to bake and at what temp......oh and just keep an eye on the top of the casserole if it starts to get real brown it is probably time to take it out of the oven.....
Too late to answer now!! Mmmm smells good, Can I come around for left overs???
I cook my casseroles on low, and stir when I remember to. Which isn't that often. That is why I bought a slow cooker!! hehe
