Does anyone have a relatively easy recipe for beef stew?!
Answers: potatoes, carrots, etc.
Try this
1lb. of cubed stew meat
4-5 carrots
3-4 celery stalks
3/4 of onion
salt/pepper
flour
beef broth
Lightlly flour the beef and in a potsweat the onion, carrot and celery till frarant then add the beef and sear till nice brown, add the beef broth and allow to simmer on low until meat is tender and broth has thickened then adjust seasoning and add a little whole butter. You can add whatever herbs, spices, and veggies you want, just remember that some veg. cooks faster thatn others so you may have to add at different times.
2 pounds beef stew meat
6 medium potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 small bag baby carrots
2 stalks celery, diced
1 medium sweet onion, coarsely chopped
4 ounces sliced mushrooms, drained
1 can tomato soup
1 can beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Directions:
Brown the stew meat; drain. Place potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, and mushrooms in bottom of 5-6 qt crockpot.
Top with stew meat. Combine tomato soup, broth, and Worcestershire sauce; pour over stew. Cover; cook on low for 8-10 hours. Stir in flour paste to thicken if desired.
The recipe above looks good...the only thing easier is a can of Dinty Moore....really good stuff!
Buy McCormicks Beef Stew Seasoning and follow the recipe on back of the envelope. That's what I do.
