Making homemade beef vegetable soup-first time?!


Question: its already on and has been simmering a while.
just wanna know what you think and if you suggest anything else.
i boiled and simmered a soup bone yest., cut off the bit of meat which ended up about a cup worth of beef.

i added a thrid package of a dried mixed bean bag bout 1/3 cup
2 stalks celery
2 small onions
1 1/2 med carrot
1 small potato
bit of cooked barley
1 small fist sized turnip
i can undrained tomatoes
3 med. fresh mushrooms
some salt and pepper

i have fresh garlic and garlic powder and some other limited spices.
any additional suggestions?

If you have it, add some oregeno, cumin and garlic. Otherwise, it sounds good!

It sounds real good. You just need to make sure you have enough liquid. If you get low add chicken broth. as far as seasoning you are OK Each time you make it you can get a little more daring as the old stupid saying you can add but you can't subtract, and I live by that stupid saying.

The potato, carrot and turnip should go in during the last 40 minutes if you don't want them to be to soft. Good recipe!
I would suggest adding beef broth or beef reduction paste if you want a beefier taste in the future.
