Anytime I make liver...fried or otherwise I add a pinch of Quatre Espices which is an equal combination of nutmeg, clove cinnamon, and allspice.....
My "homemade" BBQ sauce. I use bullseye from the bottle and just mix up powdered mustard and brown sugar mixed with a bit of water and baste it over the top just before the meat is finished cooking. Adds a little extra flavour to the bottled sauce.
I use Sazon. It is a combination of spices that you can buy in the Spanish section of your grocery store and it comes in a box with separate packets inside. I use it to flavor home fries, meats, fish, and sometimes soup. I don't always use the whole packet, depending upon the amount of food I am cooking or the amount of flavor I want in the dish. You just open the packet and sprinkle the powder over whatever food you want to flavor.
With all other foods, except vegetables, I use lots of garlic or garlic powder and a little Italian seasoning.
Toasted and then freshly ground fennel seeds go into many of my red pasta sauces
For Marinating; ..Red Wine Vinegar in Meats, White Wine Vinegar in Poultry and Fish. Roast your almonds, peanuts, pecans, coconut...before using in desserts it brings out the flavor....
the next time you make chili, add a teaspoonful or 2 of cinnamon. great flavor, nice kick.
