Why bread?!
Answers: Many people say to keep homemade cookies soft, you must store in an air tight container with a few slices of bread. How and why does this method work?
I googled it and got this. Had not heard of this, but makes sense.
Usually bread is added to things such as salt to absorb water to keep the salt from clumping. I've never heard of the procedure you mention but it sounds like just the opposite.
