Chinese dessert!!!?!
So, i was wondering.... can anyone help me find a chinese dessert. She doesn't like donuts so don't suggest that answer.
But she does like cakes and other stuff.
If you can't find a chinese recipe, maybe thai or indian. Something exotic anyway!!!!!!

The secret of this recipe for sponge cake lies in the fact it is steamed, which makes it very moist. Serve sponge cake with strawberries or other fresh fruit for a light dessert.
INGREDIENTS:
1 cup cake flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
5 eggs
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
3/4 cup sugar
1 tsp almond extract
PREPARATION:
Line a 9 X 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper. Prepare a wok for steaming.
Place the flour in a medium bowl. Sift in the baking powder and salt and set aside.
Separate the egg yolks and the egg whites.
In a medium bowl, beat the egg whites until frothy. Add the cream of tartar and beat briefly. Add 1/4 cup of sugar and beat for another minute (don't let the egg whites stiffen). Add the egg yolks and the remaining 1/2 cup of sugar. Beat for about 2 more minutes. Stir in the almond extract. Gradually add the flour mixture to the egg mixture, stirring. Mix thoroughly, but do not beat.
Pour the batter into the cake pan. Bring the water in the wok to a high boil, then turn down to medium. Steam the cake, covered, for 40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool and turn over. Cut into squares.

chinese desserts-
Of course, you can always follow Chinese tradition and conclude your evening meal with a piece of fruit. Cooks with access to an Asian supermarket will have trouble choosing between an array of luscious tropical fruits - everything from mandarin oranges to mangos and lychees may be available. Fruit can be served fresh, chilled, or marinated with a liqueur. Many Chinese recipes feature steamed fruit covered with a honey syrup, and references to steaming pears with honey and wine dates back to ancient times. Fritters, batter-covered fruits fried in oil and sprinkled with sugar, are also popular.

Thai Desserts-
Sticky Rice Balls
Sticky rice balls are fun and easy to make, plus extremely yummy! These have a sugar filling, and are dusted in coconut. Although it sounds sweet, this Thai dessert is actually low in sugar, plus it's a low fat dessert, and gluten free! And while most sticky rice desserts are steamed, this one is simply boiled. As for the dough, it's like playing with play dough! Get your kids involved, or be a kid yourself and make up a batch of these rice balls for dessert - or just for fun!
Coconut Pancakes
These coconut pancakes can be served for dessert warm and topped with a few scoops of ice cream. OR they make a great breakfast or brunch dish on the weekends. Colorful and flavored with coconut, these pancakes are actually closer to crepes in thinness (and they're gluten free). Have fun with them and make several different colors (pandan essence provides the bright green color). A great brunch dish to make for Easter, or anytime you're feeling young and happy!
Thai Ice Cream Sundae - "Butterscotch with a Kick!"
Thai food has always seemed magical to me - but nothing has astounded me more than the magic of this simple ice cream sauce. Entirely a product of my own invention, this easy dessert recipe turned out entirely different than I expected - and much more wonderful! Who would have thought a combination of Thai ingredients like chilli sauce, lime juice, and fish sauce could taste like butterscotch?! You have to try this easy dessert recipe to believe it. I call it "Butterscotch Sauce with a Kick!"
Sticky Rice Cakes Recipe
These Sticky Rice Cakes (Kanom Thuay) are small glutinous rice balls with a red bean filling. They are easily put together with rice flour (available at Asian/Chinese or health food stores) and then steamed for 10 minutes. Extremely delicious, plus the red bean and gluten free rice flour mean this Thai dessert is also very healthy - low-sugar, low-fat, and low-sodium. So indulge and create a batch of these beautiful miniature rice cakes with this clear, easy-to-follow recipe (with pictures).
Coconut Pudding Cake
This deliciously moist Thai dessert can either be served as a pudding or a cake. For coconut pudding, serve warm with a dollop of coconut milk and a sprinkling of toasted coconut. For coconut cake, bake the batter in a loaf pan, then simply cool and slice. Either way, this coconut dessert is extremely delicious, super-easy to make, and healthy too - low in fat and sugar, plus gluten free. Best of all, you can have this easy dessert recipe whipped up and in the oven in just 10 minutes!

Thai Rice Pudding
This rice pudding recipe is scrumptious, plus healthy and nourishing. It starts with Thai sweet rice which is flavored with coconut milk, brown sugar, plus warm spices like cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and star anise. An optional step includes adding red adzuki beans or red bean paste (this gives the pudding extra texture, vitamins, natural color, and flavor). Top with your choice of cream, milk (or condensed milk), soy or rice milk, or more coconut milk/cream. Mmmmm....
Green Tea & Coconut Cake

For an even healthier dessert, make it with organic ingredients. This cake is great for a pot-luck, a dinner party, or simply as an everyday treat that even your kids will love.
Rainbow Rice Cake
This rice cake recipe is beautiful to look at, and as fun to make as coloring easter eggs. It has a coconut flavor, as well as the subtle taste of pandan leaf. Use food coloring to create the rainbow effect, or follow my alternative method to create naturally colored stripes. Either way, this cake is uniquely delicious, low-fat, low-calorie, and a gluten free recipe. Make it for your next party or potluck where it will be sure to steal the show.
Thai Pumpkin Custard
This custard is spectaclar to look at, and wonderful to eat. Makes a great Halloween or Thanksgiving dessert recipe, and a nice alternative to pumpkin pie. A small pumpkin (or squash) is hollowed out and then filled with an easy Thai custard (a healthier and lower calorie version than traditional custard, plus it's gluten-free). It is then baked in the oven for an hour. Serve cold with a splash of maple syrup or brandy and a cup of strong tea or coffee.

Makes a terrific addition to a potluck, BBQ, or dinner party. Carving instructions for the pineapple are included with the recipe - just follow the steps (with pictures).
Easy Thai Banana-Coconut Custard
This easy dessert is the Thai equivalent of bread pudding - but without the bread/gluten. Instead, glass noodles (made from bean flour) are used, together with slices of banana and dry shredded coconut. You'll enjoy this light and delicious dessert, especially when served warm with vanilla ice cream, or frozen vanilla yogurt or soy milk topped with a sprinkling of toasted coconut. It's a delicious, comforting, low-fat and gluten-free dessert recipe that's also incredibly easy to make.
