I want to make unique and different cheesburgers?!

Question: anyone have any special recipes?

Answers: anyone have any special recipes?

Oh yes! I make this ALL the time.

Mix 1 pound ground beef (or a mixture of beef and pork)
with 5 Tablespoons prepared pesto sauce.
Make burgers and poke a cube of Mozarella cheese into the middle of each.
Fry and enjoy. Needs NO dressing, although I like a little Mayo on mine.

Cheesy Stuffed Burgers

Ingredients
1 ounce dried mushrooms (see note)
1/2 cup very hot water
1 pound ground beef sirloin
1 pound ground beef chuck
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons dried marjoram
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
4 ounces Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled ( or substitute danish blue, very sharp cheddar, or even brie)
4 scallions, white and green parts, finely sliced
1 teaspoon salt
Vegetable oil cooking spray

Procedure
1. Put the mushrooms In a small bowl and add the hot water. Cover and set aside for about 20 minutes for the mushrooms to hydrate.

2. Combine the beef, Worcestershire sauce, marjoram, and pepper in a bowl. Set aside.

3. Squeeze the mushrooms dry, and discard the soaking liquid or reserve it for another use. Mince the mushrooms and combine the mushrooms with the cheese, scallions, and salt. Divide the cheese mixture into 6 equal portions, flattening each into a thick patty about 2 1/2 inches in diameter.

4. Divide the meat Into 12 portions, and flatten each into a thin patty. Set a cheese patty on 6 of the beef patties, and top with the remaining beef patties. Press the edges of the patties closed to seal tightly and hold in the juices during grilling. Refrigerate until ready to grill.

5. Prepare a charcoal or gas grill, Lightly spray the grill rack with vegetable oil cooking spray. Light the coals or heating elements. and let them burn or heat until moderately hot to hot.

6. Grill the burgers for about 5 minutes. Turn and grill for 4 or 5 minutes longer for medium-well burgers. Use a large spatula when turning the burgers, taking care that they do not split.

Note: Dried mushrooms are sold in packages containing several different kinds. This mixture works well here, or buy loose dried mushrooms.

Make the patty using 1/2 beef and 1/2 pork with some small diced onion mixed in and a tiny bit of tomato paste. For the cheese, use something unusual such as brie or boursin spread on the bun. Spread some butter on the bun and grill it a bit. Bacon on top is also tasty :)

Double Salsa Burger
1 large tomato, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 cup finely chopped green bell pepper
1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
2 fresh or pickled jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped (see Cook's Note)
1 tablespoon snipped fresh cilantro
Juice of 1 small lime
2 garlic cloves, finely minced
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
1 1/2 pounds lean ground beef
2 cups shredded lettuce
1/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup sour cream (optional)
Guacamole (optional)
For salsa, in a medium bowl combine tomato, green pepper, onion, jalapeno peppers, cilantro, lime juice, garlic, salt and pepper. Set aside 2 tablespoons of the salsa. Cover and chill the remaining salsa until serving time.
In another medium bowl, combine ground beef and the 2 tablespoons salsa; mix well. Shape mixture into six 1/2-inch-thick oval patties.
Grill patties on an uncovered grill directly over medium coals for 12 to 14 minutes or until meat is no longer pink, turning once.
Arrange shredded lettuce on dinner plates. Top with patties, remaining salsa, and cheddar cheese. Serve with a small dollop of sour cream and/or guacamole.
Makes 6 servings.

Inside out burger....make 2 thin patties....place onions & cheese in the middle of one patty cover with the second patty and seal well...season with salt...and grill

top with jalepenos and cream cheese

The last time I had a Maid Rite hamburger was over 50 years ago. To this day it remains the best hamburger I've ever had. The only things on it are pickle and onions (both your choice). The only condiment sitting on the counter is mustard.

Try making a loose meat burger and putting cheese on it.

crumble feta cheese into the meat - season with some Greek salad dressing. Then you can serve it with cucumbers (sliced really thin), feta cheese and plain yogurt or sour cream in pita bread

use ground sirloin
and use blue cheese

Mix crumbled blue cheese in with your ground beef. Then cook as normal. Yummy!

Or you can saute some mushrooms & onions & top your burger with them.

I like to make burgers w/onion soup mix and then top it with sauteed mushrooms and blue cheese. I also mix a packet of taco seasoning in the meat, cook the patties, then add queso cheese or just plain cheddar. I do sort of the same recipe but use spaghetti sauce mix and mozzerella cheese.

YUM!

Try different kinds of cheeses such as pepper jack or Boursin.

Simply saute them in a pan in garlic butter.

To make garlic butter:
You can add garlic powder to butter to taste
Or mince a garlic clove or two and throw in the pan with the burgers and butter (best)

These are fine to add the usual toppings to, although you might try an Italian cheese with them, like provolone or mozzarella, and spaghetti or pizza sauce instead of ketchup. May want to butter and toast the buns, too.

Another nice way to make burgers is to saute some mushrooms in butter, and put them on the burger with bacon and swiss cheese, for a bacon-mushroom-swiss burger.
