One of the few good uses for supermarket plastic bags !! (as long as it has no holes in it ) Place the roe in the bag -suck the air out -and tie as tightly as possible. Simmer or steam until quite firm to the touch -10-15 mins. according to the proportions -not necessarily the weight. When cool enough to handle, slice,3/4-1in. thick and fry in Bacon fat until golden on both sides. Serve, with the bacon and eggs, for breakfast or with the bacon and boiled new spuds. Enjoy !!

Cut it into slices and shallow fry it

white liver and can be cooked any way you like , floured and shallow fried lightly with a little salt and pepper and lemon juice is the best and fast becoming very popular , on the other hand roe that gets used for a number of different uses (caviar dip) cod roe spread, is okay but it really is not as good cooked fresh
