Is it possible to overcook chili in a slow cooker?!

Question: I've all ready cooked the ground beef as I hate how slow cookers don't brown things....and threw it all in the pot at 11am. If my cooker is set on low, by 5pm will it be overcooked or okay?

Yes, I have done it on low for that period of time.
Dont forget the nice hot crusty bread and the cheese, onions and that dollop of sour cream.
Bon Apetitite :)

should be okay on low. but the tomato sauce and green peppers can get a bitter burnt taste after a while

As long as you keep it on Low, it'll be fine. Chili needs to cook for a longer period so the flavors can meld. Check it every so often, and stir.

That sounds about right to me from what I remember about chili.

Sould be good check the beans, that's going to be the thing you want to watch.

Should be okay. I don't use the slow cooker anymore. I just can stand the fact that something electrical is heating at home, and I'm not there to keep an eye on it. Anyway, I don't mean to instill fear here. If anything, the beans might get soft and start coming apart. But for six hours, I'm sure it'll be fine.

If it's on low, it should be fine. High for that long would just burn it up, but you should be ok! Chili needs time for the flavors to blend and the longer the better! I always cook mine on the stove for 3-4 hours and I recently won a chili cookoff! :)
