When you make a baked potato in the microwave, do you rub it with butter or oil?!

Question: No.

Answers: No.

no I just poke them and add butter while eating

I just poke holes in the potato and cook it in the microwave, then when it is done, I pull it out and put toppings in it, I never heard of rubbing it with something.

Nope. Make sure you do poke some holes in it first, though, or it will explode.

I don't do either. I wrap it in a paper towel and neuc it. Always fluffy.

no, you dont have to put anything on it. i just poke holes in it THEN put toppings on. Putting the toppings on first wont make a difference, i dont think.

No, because the oil is only when you bake it. I usually poke some holes in it and then I wrap it with Plastic wrap to speed up the cooking process and steam it...

Butter

it doesnt really work with any thing, just put it on a plate with butter, time depends on size of potato and how many.

I rub a little olive oil and salt into my potato after I have nuked it in the microwave. I then shove it in a pre-heated oven for five minutes so the skin will turn nice and crispy. Don't forget to poke holes before before nuking.

I use my own special sauce.

Actually, microwaves change the cooking method, so you're really steaming the potato, which is why you have to poke holes in them, to let some of the extra steam out.
Microwaves actually excite the molecules in the food, which means that they are not heated from the outside in as they would be in an oven. Since microwaves cook the food in such a different way, and for such a short amount of time, you can't really get all that crispy-skinned potato-y goodness that you would with an oven, even with a fat on the outside of the potato.
There's really not much point in adding fat to the outside of the potato except for flavor, so I would use butter.

no. Just stick a sharp knife through the center and your all set. one hole is plenty.

Nope I just poke holes in it

No butter or oil is necessary. Just poke a couple holes in it so that it doesn't explode.
