nfd?

I have never tried to stew them, but if I did, I would add to the sauce for a fish pie.

Alternatives
Season your batter with Salt and freshly ground black pepper an a touch of chili powder.
Deep fry, Yum
I prefer raw with just a little vinegar.

OYSTER STEW

8 ounces oysters, canned
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup celery, finely chopped
2 cups milk, hot
salt and pepper, to taste

Simmer celery in butter until tender, add Worcestershire sauce and oysters, with their juice. Heat just until oysters begin to curl. Add milk. Season with Sherry, if desired. Serve steaming in bowls, garnished with paprika

OR

OYSTER STEW

3 tbsp. butter
1 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. green onion tops or chives
1 c. chopped celery
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. paprika
Dash nutmeg
3 (8 oz.) cans oysters

In a large saucepan saute first 8 ingredients until soft. While vegetables are cooking, open cans of oysters. Drain into medium bowl. Add liquid to 1 quart of extra rich milk in another bowl. When the vegetables are ready, lift them out of saucepan with a slotted spoon into bowl with the oysters.
Stir 2 tablespoons flour in butter drippings. If needed, add more butter over medium heat. Pour milk and oyster liquid into this mixture, stirring constantly. Mixture will thicken slightly. Last, add oysters and vegetables. Heat to piping hot. DO NOT BOIL!! Place stew in saucepan over a pan of hot water to keep hot at least 15 minutes to ripen. Serves 8.
