Asian black chicken?!

Question: Yesterday at the Asian grocery store, I saw a black chicken, also known as a silkie chicken. Has anyone here ever tried it? What's it like?

I am a former chef and worked in Asia, "Silkie Fowl" are used for a medicinal soup with ginseng, dried scallops, matrimony berries, other medicanal herbs and roots, and the broth is serverd to you, it is common in the winter in China for aliments like colds, flu and pnemounia.

The meat is tough and has no real flesh it is mainly skin and bones, I have had it in Singapore, Canada, Japan and Hong Kong and it is a nice clear soup with a bit of a funky mentholated/herby flavour, it does the trick for you if your not well.

That is the place to go in NYC Chinatown, they will have the pre-bagged or a herblist can make up the preparation, also, it can be made with regular chicken and parts for a meat content.

I've seen it on TV.
