Can we hear a hallelujah for banana pudding?!

Question: I just created my very 1st successful meringue! After 38 years, I finally did it! It's fluffy, light, and looks gorgeous on my homemade banana pudding! Did anyone else take that long to get it right?

Ummmm.... sounds yummy! Well, you have me "beat" (pun intended) I'm a good decade older than you & still have trouble boiling water, lol! It does sound delicious 'tho, have a bowl (or two!) for me, and congrats on your success!

I have never tried, but congrat to you

i spent 10 minutes making the perfect grilled cheese..so congrats

congradulations!!!! actually i never tried, but i looove banana pudding. can i have some????please!?!?!?!

Hallelujah. I still can't do it. Not that I've tried recently...

Nah, it didn't take me a long time. My grandma taught me how to make meringue when I was a little girl. She made lemon ice box and chocolate meringue pies all the time, therefore she was a pro at making meringue. But congratulations on your success!

And banana pudding, by the way, is one of the most genius creations ever. I mean, it's delicious and super easy. What more could you ask for??

Amen, sistah!!

My mom taught me the secret years ago....use a clean metal bowl, and put it, and the beaters in the freezer for 5 minutes before you start.

hahahaha ive been trying and trying and trying and my last creation tasted pretty good and was nice and fluffy sadly at the bottom it was slighty runny... i have no idea why!!! congratz! You gave me the initative to try again! thanks :)

I crave banana loaf so clicked on to see your question, I m not a cook so my congrats might mean much

"WELL DONE!"

you got it...hallelujah yeehaw...

yumm!

My mom makes excellent banana pudding, i bet yours is DELICIOUS! She can make meringue , she happens to be 38 so i didn't take her that long, she makes a beautiful meringue, but we have never tried in on B. Pudding! I want to see your beautiful meringue on that pudding! I tried making meringue once and it came out of the oven all fluffy and brown, and then i cut it and it deflated... Congrats on yours! Hopefully I'll get it soon...

p.s. HALLELUJAH FOR BANANA PUDDING! ^.^ :D

Well Done!!! and banana pudding sounds wonderful.I can honestly say that in the many, many years that I have been cooking I have never created a successful meringue, and as for sponge cakes etc, my son insists that they should be used as back up bombs for the army! lol x

It's a banana pudding love fest! LOL I made an old-fashioned baked banana pudding a few weeks ago. Hadn't had one since I was a kid but it was wonderful. Freezing the bowl & beaters is a great tip - I always do that when I'm working with whipping cream, too. And a little bit of cream of tartar will give you great height on the meringue.

Congrats to you on your success!

Hallelujah! But why do you use meringue on banana pudding? We always use vanilla pudding, vanilla wafers and bananas. What is your recipe?

And...use a glass bowl when whipping your meringue. There is something about plastic bowls that the meringue doesn't like....good tip on the frozen beaters. I'll have to remember that.

Oh, I just love banana pudding!

Congratulations. Don't feel badly. I have just finally learned the technique of cooking dried beans. I always used to let the beans run out of water before they were completely cooked. I have learned you have to keep adding water until they are completely cooked and tender! Then you can let them run a little drier to the consistency you want or bake them with other ingredients. Learning is a life long process, I guess!
