dunno if this is exactly what you are looking for, but this is a yummy soft sugar cookie recipe:::

INGREDIENTS:
3/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
2 cups granulated sugar
4 egg yolks
1 1/2 cups milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon lemon extract ( I usually use all vanilla)
1 teaspoon baking soda
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
PREPARATION:
Cream shortening and butter with sugar. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Pour milk into a large measuring cup; add extract(s) and baking soda. Into a separate bowl sift flour, baking powder, salt, and nutmeg.
Add dry ingredients to the creamed mixture alternately with the milk mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets then sprinkle with a cinnamon-sugar mixture. Bake for 12 to 13 minutes at 375°. Store sugar cookies in an airtight covered container.

Honey Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

1 1/4 c Butter Flavor Crisco
1 c Sugar, granulated
1/4 c Honey
1 Egg
1/4 c Milk
1 ts Vanilla
2 1/2 c Flour, all purpose
1 ts Baking Soda
1/2 ts Salt
1 c Oats, quick cooking NOT
- instant or old fashioned
1 c Coconut, flaked
1 c Raisins
1/2 c Walnut pieces
1/2 c Wheat germ ( opt )

Preparation Time: 25 minutes Bake Time: 11 to 14 Minutes

1. Heat oven to 350 F.

2. Cream Butter Flavor Crisco, granulated sugar, brown sugar, honey,
egg, milk and vanilla in large bowl at medium speed of electric mixer
until well blended.

3. Combine flour, baking soda and salt. Mix into creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, coconut, raisins, walnuts and wheat germ. Drop rounded
teaspoonfuls of dough onto ungreased baking sheet.

4. Bake at 350 for 11 to 12 minutes for soft cookies, 13 to 14
minutes for crisp cookies. Remove to cooling rack.

Makes 6 dozen 2 inch cookies.

chocolate covered cherry cookies

Ingredients
Amount Ingredient
1 1/2 cups flour, all-purpose
1/2 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 cup sugar
1 each egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
48 each maraschino cherries
Frosting
6 ounces chocolate chips (semi-sweet)
1/2 cup milk, sweetened condensed
5 teaspoons cherry syrup

Directions
1. In bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, salt, baking powder and baking soda.

In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until fluffy.

Add egg and vanilla to butter-sugar mixture and beat well.

Gradually add dry ingredients to butter-sugar mixture and beat
until well blended.

2. Shape dough into 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie
sheet and push down center of each ball with thumb.

Drain cherries and reserve juice.

Place 1 cherry in center of each indentation.

Heat oven to 350 degrees F.

3. For frosting, put chocolate chips and sweetened condensed milk in small saucepan. Heat until chocolate melts. Stir in 4 teaspoons cherry juice.

If too thick, add more juice.

4. Spoon 1 teaspoon frosting over each cherry. Spread to
cover cherry.

Bake 10 minutes or until done. Do not overcook.

Remove to wire rack and cool.

The cookies freeze nicely.
