How to cook (in the oven) and season ""beef bone-in loin strip steak"?!

Question: Someone told me to lightly coat it with mayo before I cook it and cook it 30-40 min on 350..is this good? is there a better way to cook it? or something else I should do to it?

I would sear it on both sides in a skillet first to seal in the juices, then season with salt & pepper & place under the broiler for three to 5 minutes, depending on desired your taste m/rare to well, then turn it over season and place back under the broiler until it is done to your taste! This is how we cook strip steak at the restarunt.

Grill, Broil, saute, or pan fry that expensive steak Oven is Not the preferred way too cook it . That cut of meat is at its best with a tasty crust from high heat, Saute/broil/ grill and finished off in an oven , or cool side of grill . It should NEVER be cooked through Use salt and pepper Cook steak when it is at room temp..
