My Dad says that at 350 degrees your potatoes should
be already done after an hour. If the oven is at 450 degrees
it should take less time.
He should know he cooks a lot of different foods. He
has over 2 dozen different cookbooks.

My Dad asks this, "Is your oven turned on??"

Two, you have to pre-heat the oven before you put the
potatoes in.

If you have it on. Maybe, the reason it is not cooking is
that your oven is defective and either you need it
repaired or buy yourself a new oven.

pierce the potatoes with a fork, it shouldnt take much longer after that

ha I don't know usually 3~5min!(For taters)
Peel bit of skin and put butter to it!
YUMMY~ I bet you know that right??
Oh yeah Butter won't be cooked that well!
It's foil if you put too much it doesn't cook well...
lol either something is wrong with your oven or you need more detail
I found it easier with a bit of hot air coming in!
Poke some holes on the foil

Did you poke holes in it first?
Ovens too high...
375 for 1 hour...for perfect baked potatoes

That is exactly why I had tater tots. No kidding, I was holding up the bag and I said, forget it. Hope their done by the time you are reading this ;)

Squeeze them and see, if they still seem hard the take one out of hte oven and slice open to see if they are still hard, if they are you can re-wrap them and toss them back in the oven.

Hi Amanda, what kind of potatoes are you cooking. Russet will take a lot less time than new white or new red potatoes, but I think their worth the wait. They may take another 1/2 hour. Enjoy

It usually takes about an hour. Like someone said, pierce the potato with a fork before wrapping it in foil. I also like to cover it in margarine. You can try microwaving it, but I prefer the oven.

Doing it so bad! You should poke it potatoh

dont wrap in foil, that steams them. unwrap them and then they will bake and get crispy and delicious. dont poke holes in them either, that lets out heat which slows cooking.
