I want to make my own snowcones?!

Question: Every recipe I find just generically says use snowcone syrup? Well, where the heck do I find that or what can I substitute or use instead of that? Anyone know?

Thanks!

I would just use your favorite kool aid. You will spend more on less tasty syrups.

I have found snow cone syrup at Walmart of all places, but only in the US. I have my Mom bring it up to Canada for me. Usually I just use a few spoons of frozen concentrated fruit juice, or you can use cordials like blackcurrant or lime.

snowcone syrup is a heavy syrup 3 sugars to 1 water with flavoring and coloring in it.

How about making better nutritional syrup by using frozen concentrated fruit juices??? Just thaw and pour them over your crushed or shaved ice.

We have bought it at walmart for our daughter. They stock it seasonally, in the warmer months.
IT's basically just a syrupy fruit liquid. I would think you could also use the coffee flavorers..not sure what they are called, but the bottles they use to flavor expressos and italian sodas, etc. that coffee houses use.

i dont use snowcone syrup at all.
i just make my own with kool-aid.
i get a small bottle and put the original amount of sugar that the package says and put a lot less water than you would in regular kool-aid. i actually find it to be MUCH better.
