How can you make butter, salt and other flavours of popcorn ??!

Question: I want to make some flavoured popcorn for my friends party(sleepover). I want to make some different flavours like butter or salt or cheese but i amnt sure how to make them as when i put salt on it just goes to the bottom. I normally put it on after its popped. I dont want to have to buy the bags which already have flavouing. Thanks and can you give some shops like Sainsburys or Tescos. And do you know any other flavours ? Thanks sooo much xx

For Cheese Popcorn, mix 2 bags (still hot) microwave popcorn w/ 1 packet of cheese powder from a box of mac & cheese. Toss well.

For Parmesan-Garlic Popcorn, toss 2 bags m/w popcorn (still hot) w/ ? cup grated parmesan cheese that is mixed w/ 1 tsp garlic powder. This is also good w/ 1 tsp. of black pepper tossed in w/ the parmesan cheese and garlic.

Dad’s Microwave Caramel Popcorn

1 cup brown sugar
1 stick margarine
? cup light corn syrup
? tsp. salt
? tsp. baking soda
3 quarts popped popcorn

Place sugar, margarine, corn syrup, and salt in a large microwave-safe Pyrex measuring cup. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Add baking soda and stir well; microwave syrup on high for 20 more seconds.

Place popped popcorn in brown paper bag, and pour syrup mixture over popcorn. Fold bag top, and shake to evenly coat the popcorn. Microwave bag of popcorn on high for 1? minutes. Remove and spread popcorn on a cookie sheet to cool. Break into bite-size pieces and enjoy! Store in an airtight container.

Variations: For Peanut Butter Caramel Corn, substitute ? cup of Peanut Butter for a half of the margarine. For Caramel Corn with Peanuts, add 1 cup of salted peanuts to the popcorn, before adding syrup.

put it over them or soak them in it !!!

use taco seasoning for a kick,or i sometimes will use the dry cheese packet from Kraft macaroni and cheese for cheese popcorn .either way its easiest to pop the corn ,while its still warm put it in a bag add the seasoning and shake to coat -have fun @your party

Its Kath from S. X Heyya

Add the flavouring...alot of it as some of the flavour will be lost...before you pop it.

Either that or sprinkle a powder eg. cheese powder on it after you popped it.

Hope this helps

What about putting the salt on after you've put the butter on? That would make it stick, wouldn't it? Or put the salt and pepper in the butter bowl and mix it around before you pour the butter over the popcorn?

The movie theater where we go has these seasoning salts located next to the snack counter so you can make your own flavors of popcorn. They work really well and taste pretty good. One or two of the flavors is even available in grocery stores here, instead of buying them from the website. Not sure if they have them in England, but there might be a comparable brand available there. Look in the popcorn section at the grocery store for popcorn seasoning salts. Yours will probably at least have popcorn salt and maybe butter or cheddar flavors.

Popcorn salt is a little different than regular table salt or other salts you may have around the house - it is specially formulated to help it to stick to the popcorn.

Hope this helps. Good luck with your search.

I like a little parmesean cheese on mine!
