Whats a good gift to get someone who loves to cook besides a cookbook?!

Question: do you know of any neat kitchen gadgets? or something a cook might find useful?

Answers: do you know of any neat kitchen gadgets? or something a cook might find useful?

There is a wide variety of choices here, which depends on how much you want to spend, what kind of foods the person likes to cook, how big their kitchen is, how well you know them, how good a cook they are...

Assuming you are friendly but not best friends and the person is a pretty good cook, they probably already have the basic cooking utensils, so I would go for something fun, cool or particularly nice that they might not get for themselves.

Examples:
- fun silicone spatulas in a color that matches her kitchen decor or with fun prints, like these:

- if she is a serious cook, she is probably in awe of La Creuset pots and utensils. I don't know how much you want to spend but any cast iron pot with lid in the new Caribbean color is, in my opinion, absolutely fabulous and will last a lifetime: http://www.amazon.com/Creuset-Quart-Oval...
- Williams & Sonoma has tons of really great stuff for cooks. Check out this adorable cake pan: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/products/...
- If she likes baking, how about a gorgeous mixer: http://www.williams-sonoma.com/shop/elt/...
or some cake decorating tools:

- or how about some gourmet cooking oils, wines and liqueurs like flavored oils (truffle, walnut, garlic, etc), Port, and so on?

Also, plumparty.com has lots of colorful kitchen utensils and party supplies - anything from colanders to spatulas and plates is fun and would make a good hostess gift.

I hope this helps. have fun!

Food processor, if they dont have one. Or some really nice cooking utensils

rachel ray stuff

kitchen set they sell them at a lot of places and its like a lot of things that you can use in the kitchen

maybe you coulod get them different accesories 4 cooking

Spatula, flour, sugar, stuff like that in a little packet and wrap it up all cute and stuff

Smart ware Bake ware and a Gift Certificate to Chef's Warehouse

Cooking wines and cooking oils. Spices herbs

Blender. Gift Certifs to your local independent cookery shop (Rather than a big name store that might have junk) Jamie Oliver has some good cookwear out there. Global knives are always nice (But expensive and knives are a thing of personal preference)

A gift certificate for Williams-Sanoma... that whole store is amazing for anyone who likes to cook/bake.....And as a cute touch... buy an oven mitt to put your card and certificate in....

THERE ARE SOME REALLY GREAT KITCHEN GAGET STORES AROUND JUST CHECK ONE OUT I'M SURE YOU WILL FIND LOTS OF NEAT THINGS THAT ANY COOK WOULD ENJOY

I would ay that a cookbook stand or holder would be best. You can find this product at your local Target.

Make a gourmet food basket. You can make a pretty good size basket for pretty reasonable if you go to Trader Joes. Buy some nice pasta sauces, dried pasta, dips, crackers, cookies, either a bottle of wine or sparkling fruit juice. Most people who love to cook love to entertain as well. Or even just a Trader Joe gift card.

I think a fresh set of kitchen towels and hot pads are always nice. They always seem to need to be replaced.

Garbage Disposal, Pots & Pans, Utensils, Anything Cookware-Related would be a fine gift.

HI
ask them to come with you to a good shop that sells knives ( don't buy one your self ) then show them the knives on offer thy will love the fact you gave them the chose ?

Maybe...

-gift certificate to a evening cooking class
-a pots and pan set
-dish set for entertaining
-a basket filled with... serving spoons, measuring cups, a meat/candy electronic thermometer

I hope these help, I love to cook and I just found a cookbook that has blank pages so I can fill out them with my fav. recipes and ideas.

A STEAMER.

For steaming vegetables and some meats. Not the metal basket you put over a pot of water, but the kind you plug in.

By far, the best kitchen gift I ever got. I use it almost every day. You can cook the veggies just to your liking...as soft or crunchy as you want. It also works great for reheating rice (you know how it gets all hard and nasty if you put it in the fridge? Just steam it for a few minutes and it's as goo
d as new).

Seriously, get a steamer.

-Edit-
Thought of a few more things...

Some of those pots with the strainer built into the lid...just lock the lid on and pour. Those work wonders for pasta.

pyrex pans. Durable & nice looking.

A double mezzaluna knife for chopping herbs.

Pampered chef also has some wicked cool gadgets.

I saw I fork the other day that measures the food temperature when you stick in the food out of the oven.Maybe he'll like that.

"Pampered Chef" makes a great can opener. I buy them for Christmas gifts all the time. They last a very long time and they open cans in a very unique fashion.
