Can you still use cream cheese if you cut off the mold?!
Also it used to be very common for cheese to have mold on it and just be cut off before serving.
But, the flavor will be adversely affected and cream cheese is cheap so throw it out.
My 2 cents.
Answers: Well you can, and despite what some people will say it will not kill you, cheese is basically moldy milk.

yes you can- that is, if you want to die
umm i wouldnt but go ahead and try and let me no how it turns out
yup
i do it all the time
I don't see why you'd settle for some crusty old moldy cream cheese when you can buy a nice new and fresh batch!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!! cream cheese is to be enjoyed! That just ain't right. i really don't reccomend it.
You can cut off the mold of sharp cheddar chees, and it will still be good to eat. It will not hurt you. I'm not sure about cream cheese. It is rather soft, and may stick to the knifife. Grams
Mold formed on natural, hard, block cheeses is not harmful and may be removed; just cut off at least an inch around and below the mold spot, keeping the knife out of the mold itself. The particular mold in the interior of cheeses such as Blue, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, or Stilton has been carefully developed to produce the characteristic color and distinctive flavor of those varieties and is consumed as part of the cheese.
I would just buy it without the mold in the first place!
I don't know about cream cheese. I've cut mold off of regular cheese before without becoming ill. If you might have an allergy to penicillin then I would advise against cutting off the mold because you could possibly get very, very ill.
Think about it, the copay for the emergency room is not only really inconvenient, but also a lot more expensive than a new block of cream cheese.
You can, but why would you?? Cream cheese isn't so expensive that you can't dump it & buy another.. I'm unemployed & I can dump it & buy another!!
No
its better to be safe then sorry, i don't think you should..
No. If you see mold, it has already permeated through the entire cheese. Throw out the cheese. It will make you ill. Mold is not a surface thing; it has long fibers reaching all the way through a food substance.
Ewww smellies....thank goodness you threw it out! I sure wouldn't eat it if it had mold on it. Have a good night.
Just so you know, for next time, I used to work at a cheese store called Mars Cheese Castle, If we had moldy cheese, we cut the mold off, wrap it back up and put it back on the shelf. It is perfectly fine to eat! We even did this with our fresh cream cheese. Next time, go ahead. Anyway, you know what the blue in blue cheese is right? Lol. =]
