HAMBURGER COOKIES

All store-bought ingredients:
1 box vanilla wafers
1 package Peppermint Patties
Frosting in the "squirt" packages: green, red, orange

Squirt green frosting (lettuce) on the bottom of a vanilla wafer, and put the peppermint patty on top. Add a squirt of orange frosting (cheese), another squirt of green, and a squirt of red (tomato), top with another vanilla wafer

My mom used to make these wonderful butter cookies with green frosting, in the shape of four leaf clovers or shamrocks, for St. Pat's.

Let me see if I can find that recipe for you. She's in the nursing home, but I might get them to take the phone over to her. Yeh, she has a mind like a steel trap, she'll remember.

While we're waiting, here's a recipe which I think is something like what she did. Of course she might be cagey on us, and whisper something like "ancient Basque-French secret" but she's a doll.

Man, those coookies were sooohhhh good they make you wanna slap yo' mama. Oh, sorry Mom.
