Simply triple this recipe

Grilled Asparagus Spears

1 pound fresh asparagus, trimmed and peeled, see Cook's Note
4 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt

Preheat a grill.
Place asparagus on a plate. Drizzle oil over the asparagus and turn spears until they are coated. Sprinkle with salt and turn again.

Grill asparagus for 5 minutes over a hot grill. Each minute or so, roll each spear 1/4 turn. Asparagus should begin to brown in spots (indicating that the natural sugars are caramelizing) but should it not be allowed to char. Dripping oil may cause flare-ups. Keep a glass, or spray bottle of water handy to spritz on coals, if necessary.

Remove from grill and serve immediately (eating spears with your fingers enhances the experience).

Cook's Note: Look for firm asparagus stalks with firm deep green or purplish tips. Also check the bottom of the spears. If they are dried up, chances are they have been sitting around for too long. Trim off the tough bottom of the spear by grasping each end and bending it gently until it snaps at its natural point of tenderness, usually 2/3 of the way down the spear. If the spear is less than 6 inches long, chances are it has already been trimmed for you. Then take a vegetable peeler and peel off the outer skin of the lower half of the remaining stalk.

eat it

steam it and cover with roasted peppers, use a dijon mustard as the sauce.

fry it up with a little lemon juice!

easiest is to cook in the oven on a cookie sheet. wash and drizzle with olive oil salt and pepper. bake at about 375 till done. drizzle a little lemon juice right before serving.

LOW-CARB HAM AND ASPARAGUS ROLLS

24 stalks asparagus
6 slices boiled ham

Cook fresh asparagus until tender. Drain.
Lay 4 stalks on a slice of ham, roll and fasten with toothpicks. Repeat with remaining stalks and slices.

Brush with melted butter. Broil for 15 minutes on high heat.

Serves 6.

Per serving: 7g carbs, 25g protein

Trim off the tough ends and put on a cookie sheet and season with a little salt & pepper and balsamic vinager and then place directly on the grill on low heat. Watch them closely
they cook quickly. Removed from grill and then squeeze lemon on them. Delicious!!

Lay them in a square pyrex pan, with about 1/4" water, cover with waxed paper, and microwave about 4 min. You may need to do that much in 3 batches. It tastes like steamed veggies, but is easier to do. Just put REAL butter, and some sea salt on top....

steam, then brush with olive oil and grill, then sprinkle with sea salt. The steaming ensures that the asparagas is done without burning on the grill. The grilling is mostly for the flavor you get.

I would grill it, it tastes nice!!!

Best way i do large amounts is Grill it. My catering business does it like this.......

Wash and clean asparagus spears.
Cover every spear with good quality olive oil
season with garlic salt and fresh ground pepper
put on a large piece of foil
top with real butter chunks
wrap loosely in foil
put on medium grill
roll after eight minutes
remove and toss together
ENJOY!
