Does homemade salsa have to be refridgerated right away? Can it be sealed in a mason jar to be shipped?!

Question: Look up information on canning techniques. By "canning" the salsa it can be kept for years...

Just google or yahoo canning techniques, there is information on how it is done in detail, it is pretty simple to do. Just be careful to follow the steps.

If you're going to try to ship it, you have to can it the way you'd can tomatoes. You can't just close it up and leave it out.

If you go through the canning process it can be sealed and shipped but I would take out insurance on the package because toe Post Office and UPS are notorious for mishandling and breakage.

I think it would need to be canned properly in order to be shipped. I'm sure it would be ok for a few days out at home since it has vinegar but I really wouldn't chance shipping it. Just look up canning instuctions and I'm sure it's not that hard. Salsa is my favorite thing to make homeade, I use my grandma's recipe and only garden tomatos, can't wait till summertime!!!

It has to be canned or it will spoil in about 2 days in the jar out of refrigeration. Dangerous....

It can be sealed in a masson jar. You need to jar it the proper way.
