I eat tuna sandwiches twice a day, with low-fat mayo on wheat tortilla, is low-fat mayo really bad for you?!

Question: Is a tablespoon or two of low-fat mayo really bad for you(im trying to lose weight), if so wha's a healthier replacement, or is it not really a big deal?

Here is a reliable source for how much tuna is good for you :) There is a little bit healthier mayo for you that I have gotten at my local health food grocery store, I don't remember the name off the top of my head, but it tastes just like normal mayo.

well low-fat and no fat are two different things, its not so much low fat as it is just lower fat compared to normal. also, too much of anything is bad, you dont get all the vitamins you need from tuna mayo sarnies!

and october is right about the mercury thing, it is directly correlated with insanity. too much tuna makes you crazy!and yes, that is tinned tuna too!

Tuna contains mercury. You should not eat it every day.

if it don't get you one way, it'll get you coming back

Eating tuna is fine, as it is one of the most protein dense foods around. However, there is such a thing as too much. If you want to keep losing weight, you have to find a comfortable variety so that it's easy to sustain as a lifestyle change. Definitely get fiber and vitamins in your diet, and drink plenty of water. If you do that and keep your sugar intake down, while getting some exercise, it'll be next to impossible to not lose weight. Also, avoid stressing out about it. A hormone produced by too much stress makes your body retain visceral fat, which is the kind that's really bad for you. Basically, avoid making your insulin spike, get fiber, drink water, take vitamins, eat some protein, and you'll be on the right path.
Mayo sucks, btw.

From what I've read I believe its dangerous to eat sushi(sashimi) grade tuna more than twice a week, but canned is okay 3 times a week. A tasty ZERO fat substitute for your low-fat mayo (I'd rather use hair conditioner on a sandwich personally!!!) is mustard! At any solid cooking/gourmet shop you'll find so many varieties that even if you don't like mustard, you'll be able to find some to suit you! Good luck and remember the only dangerous eating is eating stuff you don't like due to dieting! Exercise is so much better on the body and really allows one to eat as they please in moderation.
