How long does it take to boil macaroni noodle just right?!

Question: My noodles always come out soggy

Answers: My noodles always come out soggy

7 min for Kraft blue box no more no less. 11 for shells N cheese or the thicker macaroni noodles.

depends on how chewy u like them. fish one out of pot @ 6 min. & try it

Depends. Noodles come in different sizes. Depends on how big they are. A good rule of thumb is to read the directions on the box and set an egg timer.

This is what I do. Pasta will cook from the outside in. Next time you make macaroni noodles, take a few out during the cooking process and bite into them. You'll see a section of crunchy, uncooked noodle. Just keep cooking until this uncooked part goes away. If you keep a good eye on it, you can catch it right when it reaches this phase. The noodles will be perfectly cooked if you shut the heat off right away.

Haven is wrong, by the way. Salt in boiling water will only raise the temperture 1/2 to 1 degree F. It will not make the cooking time "faster". 8 minutes may be good for some sizes of pasta. Lasagna noodles or wide fettecinni noodles will not be al dente in 8 minutes.

Plus, it depends on where you live. If you live in Denver, water boils at about 195 F. The pasta will take longer to cook. If you live in Seattle, the water will boil at 212 F and it will cook slightly faster.

Well after your water comes to a boil add half a hand ful of good sea salt, which will make it boil harder plus this seasons the water. Add your pasta and cook for 8 mins, stiring once you first add the pasta so it wont stick. Only 8 mins for Al dente pasta is perfect every time. Also adding a tiny bit of oil isnt going to hurt your pasta either but doesnt help either. If you want to make if fun for kids, take a piece of pasta and throw it against the wall if it sticks its done, they will love that I know my girls do.

I always use Barilla pasta because if you follow the directions on the box it always comes out al dente. Try cutting back on your cooking time, about two minutes before the time on the box, grab a couple noodles out with a slotted spoon and check to see how done it is. I check every 45-60 seconds until it's the way I want it.

20 minutes.
