Spag Bol, how do you make yours?!
Answers: I have my own method but like to know how other people make it to maybe get some ideas for future meals.....
I brown mince with red onions peppers carrots and cougettes (all diced) in a bit of olive oil add herbs(i use swartz spicy italian) chopped bacon tomato puree and tinned tomatoes and simmer serve with pasta of choice and top with chedder cheese
Fry onions and garlic until soft, add the meat until brown, tinned tomatoes, puree, a bit of chopped basil... lots of salt...
Leave it until is quite a thick consistancy.
Some cheese and done.
I cheat if I'm in a hurry - I brown the mince with onions, red peppers and mushrooms, and add a jar of Ragu....et voila!
I brown the mince in it's own oil and drain off any fat and put it in a bowl. Meanwhile I fry some chopped onion and garlic in olive oil, add mushrooms (or carrots if I have some lyring around) chopped finely until the onion goes clear. I re-add the mince with a can of chopped tomatoes and some oregano and basil. If it's too runny I'll pop in a couple of spoons of tomato puree and reduce it down. I cook it for about half an hour or until the veg is soft.
Beef, tomatoes, carrots, onions oregano, mushrooms, celery, plenty garlic, tomato paste with pinch of sugar and a dash of unitalian Worcetsershire sauce. Wholemeal pasta or pasta verdi (throw it up at the ceiling if it sticks, it's ready).
Parmesan on top.
sounds good can i have some please,i wish me mam could cook.i am starving.
I use half beef half pork mince , fry until brown with onion, garlic, carrot ,celery and chopped pancetta or smoked bacon. Add a bit of tomato puree, dried oregano , a tin of chopped tomatoes, salt and pepper and a bit of beef stock and simmer on a low heat for about 40 minutes, until sauce is thick and cooked.
I make mine by frying an onion finely chopped in some olive oil, then add the mince when the onion has gone translucent. When the mince has browned I add some chopped garlic and some sliced mushrooms.
Then I add either a pack or jar of passata, a teaspoon of paprika, a teaspoon of mixed spice, a teaspoon of oregano, a teaspoon of sugar, a coupled of dashes of worcestershire sauce and some stock made from a cube, usually about half a pint and also not forgetting some freshly ground black pepper.
If I'm trying to impress then when cooking the mince first of all I also add some diced bacon.
Let mixture come to the boil, then simmer for about 20 mins.
Serve with pasta of your choice and freshly grated parmesan.
I'm embarrasses to say... but I use canned sauce and then add some garlic powder, mushrooms, and sometimes onions. Well... at least the husband seems to like it!
I cook my bolognese this way:
Fry onions in a little oil until clear
Add chopped mushrooms and cook until soft.
Remove all from pan
Add mince and brown, add mixed herbs and a little salt
return mushrooms and onions to the pan
add crumbled oxo cubes, 1 tablespoon of puree, and tinned toms, stir well
add half each, of red and green peppers
leave to cook.
Add extra salt if required.
That's it - lovely !!!!
