IF a microwave oven is nasty, dirty and you put food or drink in to ?!
Answers: heat it up does it stay sanitary or does bacterial infect your food by the lining of the microwave? Do microwaves kill germs. I work on a job sight in people's houses and see workers with disgusting mircowave ovens and even homeowners with nasty microwave ovens and it just got me thinking how gross it is and if it is sanitary?
If there is mould in the microwave do not use it. The spores will contaminate your food.
The problem with dirty microwaves is that the muck in it actually cooks each time it is turned on. Eventually it leaves a burnt smell on your food. Also the dirt will slow the cooking efficiency because the microwaves are heating up the food which is stuck to the sides and walls as well.
To clean put a cup of water with lemon juice in the microwave and put on high for about a minute. Let cool and wipe clean. If the microwave stays dirty the motor will give up the ghost much more quickly.
I sure won't use it!
I don't know about sanitary, but I sure would not use them just in case.
one time at my sisters house i was heating water in the microwave and was wondering the same thing cause she is messy. when i pulled the bowl out of microwave there was something looking like a half a pinto bean in my bowl so even if it kills germs if theres stuff in there it is not clean. thats my opinion and now i boil my top ramen
If I had to use a microwave like that (in some kind of extreme circumstances) I would certainly cover up my food/drink, I think that would almost be ok, otherwise no thank you
I dont know if it is sanitary or not but here his an easy way to clean a gross microwave. Put a bowl of water in the microwave and run on hi for a few minutes. This will steam all the crap loose and you can wipe clean with a wet cloth
It never ceases to amaze me how many people have filthy microwaves. I mean the food doesn't really get baked on and if you wipe it right away it comes right off. I've had my microwave for years and have never had to 'clean' it. I just wipe it as it gets splattered or whatever.
