When it comes to your colon, eating fiber is important for keeping it working well. Apple skins are a great source of fiber, and many of the good nutrients are in or right below the skin.

Next time you make a pie, try leaving the skins on the apples like we do (slice them thinly so there aren't big pieces.). You could even use honey instead of sugar for sweetener. Add some extra cinnamon and nutmeg for flavor, and you've got something delicious and still pretty healthy!

Not particularly.

Fiber is a key component in colon health and apple pie does not contain the skin of an apple. The skin is the fiber of the apple. Same goes for potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.

Apple = good for it
Pie = not so good, especially pecan.

Apple pie is not good for anyone, if by good you mean healthy. Try baking an apple with the skin on, then sprinkling it with cinnamon and a bit (just a bit) of brown sugar- that would be good for you. :o)

I don't know, but the apples would be good for you.
