Answers: is it possible to make it at home?

its very possible to make this at home, here is my favourite recipe, made loads of times over the years. Happy cooking

200ml/7fl oz cream
100ml/3?fl oz milk
3 cardamom pods, crushed
seeds from 1 vanilla pod
3 egg yolks
4 tbsp sugar

Heat the cream, milk, cardamom and vanilla in a small saucepan

Whisk the egg yolks and sugar in a large mixing bowl.

Pour in the milk and cream, stirring continuously to prevent the eggs from scrambling.

Pour the mixture through a sieve into a clean saucepan.

Gently stir the mixture over a medium heat until the custard begins to thicken.

This kind is amazing:
VANILLA ICE CREAM-COOKED CUSTARD

1 carton half and half
3/4 c. sugar
3 eggs
3/4 c. syrup
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 cartons whipping cream

Combine 1 carton half and half and 3/4 cup sugar. Mix and microwave on high for 4 minutes. Stir about 3 times. Beat 3 eggs. Stir in small amount of cooked half and half and sugar to eggs and then add all of this mixture to the cooked custard. Microwave 2 minutes longer. Cool in refrigerator. Add rest of ingredients to cool mixture. Freeze.

i used to make it all the time. weight watchers had a great recipe for it.
