10 minutes

depends on temp

wait for water to start boiling. then wait 3mins for a soft boiled egg. another 3 minutes for a medium to hard egg. and another 2 minutes for a rock hard egg.

Bring your water to the boil then put your egg in. After 3 minutes it will be cooked and with a soft yolk. If you want a harder yolk cook it for another minute or two. Enjoy!

i like 3.30 for soft boiled, 6 for hardboiled

7 minutes.
& 5 minutes so the yolk is runny.

Boil 10 minutes, then rinse in cold water

Between 3 to 10 minutes.

I prefer 10 minutes.

I pour the water in the pot add the eggs and start the fire and time it for 20 minutes from the time I start the flame. Afterwards I rinse with cold water and then add some ice cubes in the water and leave the eggs in for about 5 minutes. You will have a perfect egg every time, the yolk will be yellow without the green around it.

the rule is boil water add eggs and keep them in there for 12 minutes....if you leave them in the pot longer, the yolk will have that blueish blackish film around it..

It depends on the sized of the egg and your altitude and if it has been refridgerated.

Larger eggs take longer to cook

Cold eggs take longer to cook

Water boils at a lower temperature at high altitude so it makes it take longer to cook.

I say start with cold salted water heat to a boil then let turn in down and let it simmer for four minutes. That should be close to soft boiled. You will need to exsperiment to get it the way you like. Make sure you poke a hole in the shell to keep it from exsploding.

I used to boil the eggs 20 minutes till I found out that 15 minutes is fine. Then I pour out the hot water, add cold water and put in the frig for a while till they are cold. That way the shells come off easy and with no green edge around the yellow.

If you like to eat mushy soft boiled eggs you can have a 2 or 3 minute egg.

There was a salmonela scare several years ago which made cooks suggest that the egg be well boiled before eating it.
