Add a cup of sour cream. Do not omit any of the other ingredients, just add the sour cream and you will have the most moist cake anytime and every time you bake one. Also if it calls for water use milk instead.

I would not bake a cake without it myself.

apple sauce

just cook it for less amount of time and add less flour or add a splash if milk :)

Use buttermilk instead of regular milk.

You must use real butter, first
I did carpentrywork for an older black,
woman once, she shared the most moist
chocolate cake i ever had.
i asked her how, and she added
a strawberry mash, or strawberry's
in syrup to the mix. i couldn't taste the syrup?

To make a cake more moist, I bake it just till it's done, not a minute longer. And if you add a little more oil or applesauce than it calls for, that will make it more moist.

To rescue an already cooked cake, make up some sugar and water syrup OR get a couple of tablespoons full of golden syrup from a tin, thin it down with lemon or orange juice. Stab cake with a skewer all over and gently pour syrup over the cake, frost or light icing if you like and call it a lemon/orange (depending on what juice you used!) drizzle cake.

mayonaise..believe me, you wont taste it,just makes it nice and moist..about 1 tablespoon

If the cake is too dry after its cooked ,you can turn it upside down, pierce holes with a fork or spike ,then drizzle sherry or wine over the surface and let it soak in.Finally wrap in foil to retain moisture.

Use a choc cake mix and add a can of wilderness pie cherry filling- super yummy and moist!!

I add applesauce or a apple sliced thin with a little Cinnamon. I also add a box of any flavor instant pudding. Add more oil. You can add alittle milk and vanilla extract! This is what I do when I make ANY cake! BUT the apple works all the time if you don't have the other ingredients!
