Depends on the size of the spud!

It depends on the size. Start with 7 minutes on high. Pinch the potato. If it gives, its done. If its still hard, cook for another 2 minutes.

I have a 1100 watt and it does mine in 3.5 minutes. the 900 watt probably 5 min. 700 watt about 7 minutes. yes I have had many microwaves. finally bit the bullet and got a 1100 watt comercial one lol.

For 2 medium sized spuds I do them for about 10 - 12 mins on high but I always finish them off in my fan oven for about another 15 - 20 mins on high to make them really fluffy on the inside and crispy skins on the outside.

Don't put tin foil in microwave. I'd say yes for sure depends on size. Stab them with knife. Plonk them in on high after 8minutes check them turn them over if not ready and press on high again for another 5.
I usually finish them off by rolling in olive oil and placing in the real oven for a few more minutes gas mark 7 so the skins go crispy.
Yummy

dont know what a jacket spud is but for a regular russet baking potato is between 7-10 minutes. check it at 7 min by pushing a fork through the center. if it glides in easy, then its done. if its hard finish cooking it.

Just stick em in a gas oven for 1 hour wrapped in tin foil at
gas mark 8.Microwave oven ruins them.

30 minutes on high wrapped in tin foil..that should do it
