Dice 2 strips of bacon, fry until fat is rendered add 1/2 sliced onion....cook until limp add 1 cup of stock (beef, chicken or ham) and one bay leaf bring to a boil then lower to simmer.

drain and rinse beans and add to stock...let simmer for 1 hour on med low...

cooking them would be a good start

have green beans instead

have a bean salad,,, kidney beans, green beans, balck eyed peas (doesn't sound like a bean but...), wax beans and vinegar and a little bit of pepper! enjoy! (add salt if you want)

The best way to make beans is to make sauce for them first. Olive oil, onions, tomato, garlic and black pepper sauce. Then add the beans and let it cook for a while. it will taste great.

Kidney beans go really well with cumin. Add about a 1/4 teasoon for each cup of kidney beans. Also, be generous with the salt and papper and maybe add a bit of fresh citrus - lime would be wonderful - or vinegar. Along with the onions the dish should be fine.

Maybe you could put some bits of garlic and/or diffrent colored onions.
