4 baking potatoes, sliced thin (the best way to do this is with the slicing blade on your food processor)
1 cup of heavy cream
1/4 cup water
1 package garlic and herb soup mix, such as Lipton's
Preheat oven to 425. Spray a two quart casserole dish with baking spray and arrange potatoes in it. Combine the other ingredients and bake, uncovered for 45 minutes, or until potatoes are golden.
Slice about 6 tater, toss in bowl full of cream of celery soup and a little milk... mix in a cup of shredded cheese, layer mix in baking dish, pour remaining soup over top bake for 40 minutes at 350.
take out cover with cheese, and return to oven until the cheese is melted to your liking. you can also ad any spices you like to the soup when you make that part.
In a frying pan whisk 1 stick of melted butter with about 2 cups of milk some salt and pepper. Once it's hot but not boiling, slowly whisk in about 3 tablespoons of flour. (Give or take, check the thickness- you can add more milk or flour depending on the direction you need to go.) Once it's perfect in your eyes, pour it over a pan of thinly sliced potato and onion layered in about a 9x13inch pan. Cover it with tin foil and bake it on about 375 degrees for an hour and a half or until the potatoes feel soft to the fork. (Take the foil off at the end to get it a bit browned.) I also like to sprinkle the top with a bit more black pepper and paprika for color. Best of luck. (yummy)
All good recipes--keep in mind, that any milk or cream must be brought to a boil before baking or it will curdle.
