To a large tin of baked beans I add:

1/4 cup mollasses
1/4 cup bbq sauce
1 tbsp dry mustard powder.
Drain all the extra juice from the tin of beans.Place in a casserole or slow cooker.
Mix in the above ingredients.
Heat till well warmed (hot) and serve.
Just like homemade beans.
Get a box of cornbread mix and a package of ground beef. Cook up the ground beef, mix it with the baked beans, and put it in a casserole dish. Top with the prepared cornbread batter and put it in the oven until the cornbread is done (use the box directions for temp and time)
My sister used to make something like oniyaajila suggested - she called it "cowboy casserole" and her kids loved it.
I know people who use baked beans instead of kidney beans in chili. They don't care for kidney beans. Kids seem to like fried and cut up hotdogs with a little onion, add baked beans heat and serve.
