Why isn't my casserole set?!

Question: Usually after 45 minutes I have this nice firmed up casserole, ready to eat...

but today for some reason it's still runny in the middle. Now I am mad at my oven!

If I put it back in the oven will the top of my casserole get over done?

What to do?

Tent it loosely with foil to avoid overbrowning of the top. I say loosely, as covering it tightly will trap the water and it will steam and be even soggier as it is already mostly cooked.

By the way, what type of casserole is it? Maybe next time use two casserole dishes, divide it up.

Stir in some sifted flour and let cook for awhile longer uncovered..

cover tightly with foil and put back for another half hour! that should do it. foil covered cooks slower but prevents burning the top.

did you forget a part of the recipe? or it could be the weather is changing? Some days are like that, it isn't you or your oven!

tent 'er with foil and pop 'er back in the oven.
