Can a person freeze mushrooms?!

Question: and if so, what is the process? thanks

Answers: and if so, what is the process? thanks

I saute mushrooms in butter and garlic, when cool, I put in baggy and freeze.
works great for pastas, soups, etc........

I wouldn't recommend this, at all. Mushrooms are full of water, they will turn brown and nightmarish looking if you freeze them raw. I have frozen them sauteed before and they lasted about 3 weeks, but they were really sad looking and had lost alot of their flavors. This is one vegetable this is so delicate.............I would only recomment using this item fresh. I actually think they hold just as well in the Frig, after being sauteed and cooled down. They held for me for 2 weeks and that's good, for mushrooms! Good Luck and Happy Experimenting!

yes, but it would not turn like ice. it will only be hard.
