Pasties???!


Question: My husband is from Michigan and is constantly asking me to make pasties for him. I know is a bread type dough filled with meat and vegetables. That's all I know, can anyone help?

Think he means Cornish Pasties?

They're turnovers, but with a savory filling of any kind, most often beef and the same veggies you would put in beef stew. Doesn't he have a relative you can ask? They may never be as good as his mother or grandmother makes, but that will get you the closest. Don't just go on-line looking for recipes, if you get a Jamaican recipe it will not be what he's expecting!

only pasties I know of is the kind the hoochie coochie dancers used to wear on their nippies.

my mama would get SO upset when I was little & daddy went to the hoocie/coochie show at the fireman's bazaar. I've always thought pasties were a very forbidden thing!.......: ;-)

Otherwise, I've never heard of pasties.
