Well, let's see. You can buy kits at some stores with the bamboo wraps to make the seaweed wraps. But if you just want to make sushimi then all you need is sticky rice and good sushi grade fish. You can usually get that from a fish market. I hope that helps you some. Good Luck!

Try this website. Looks like a good easy site and it goes step by step. I don't know if your trying to make a specific type of sushi, but sushi is very expensive. Good Luck!

Buy a sushi maker. The kit comes with everything you need, except the ingredients. Buy from a kitchen supply store.

all sushi is about

rice see weed and dead fish lol

Sushi Rice

5 c rice
5 1/2 c water
Wash rice till water is clear then soak for 1 hour till rice is shiny and fluffy. Cook either in rice pot or by package directions. Use only a short grained white rice.

Vinegar Sauce
1/2 c vinegar
1 1/2 - 2 Tblsp salt
2 1/2 Tblsp sugar
1/2 tsp aji ( monosodium glutamate) optional

When rice is ready, transfer rice into a large shallow container ( non metal/ reactive because of acid from vinegar)
Combine above ingredients and pour over rice while still hot. Let mixture sit of a moment and then mix lightly and fan to cool. This will help to enrich the gloss to the rice and the vinegar flavor will penetrate the rice.

Variety of sushi

Tamago Yaki ( usuyaki - thin sheet of fried eggs)
3 eggs 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 tsp oil
Pour a thin layer into a fry pan and cook hard. Makes 2 sheets. Roll rice in egg sheet like if using seaweed.

Norimaki ( seaweed roll)

3 sheets nori
2 c seasoned rice
kanpyo ( squash gourd) egg cucumber strips shrimp flakes
or anything else you want to roll in the sushi.
Lay a sheet of plastic wrap a little bigger than the nori and place nori on the plastic wrap.
Spread rice onto seaweed sheet leaving 1/4 in borders all the way around.
Place filling items at the edge of rice closest to you.
Holding plastic tight, start to roll nori in on itself to make a log.
Dampen ending edge slightly with water and press down on the sushi roll to bring the log together.
Eat

Have fun.

Just like I do. Get a razor sharp fillet knife and whack off a piece of salmon as soon as the fish hits the boat deck. Now that is FRESH!!!! MMMMMM!!! No need for Wasabi here.
