Ideas for ground beef?!

Question: I have a pound of ground beef and I don't know what to do with it. Don't want spaghetti, tacos or meatloaf. Need some 'fresh' ideas that are kid friendly. They enjoy meatballs, but that's what I've done the last few times. Ideas?

Sliders. Little burgers topped with grilled onions and spicy cheddar or pepper jack, served on small dinner rolls.

Why not kid size hamburgers? You can add in some veggies such as spinach or basil to give it a little extra something. You could also spice the meat similar to a sausage and cook it with eggs for either an omelet or breakfast casserole.

mix it with rice a roni

mix it with mac and cheese

get hambuger helper

hamburgers (mini ones even on small potato rolls, like dinner rolls)

check the box on minute rice, there's some ideas there too....

How about sloppy joe sandwichs, hamburgers & fries. That's all I got.

With ground beef Try some egg noodles and a can of musshroom soup.

HAMBURGER HELPER

Try tater tot casserole. My kids beg me for it. SOOOO cheap and easy.
375F pre-heat oven
1 pound hamburger, browned, and drained
1 large can cream of mushroom soup
1 bag frozen green beans
1 bag frozen tater tots
1 bag shredded cheese, your favorite

Layer them in a large baking dish in that order, except for the cheese. Bake for 30 minutes or until tater tots are done [start checking at 20 minutes]. Cover with cheese, and heat until melted. Serve with garden salad.

We also do calzones. I hand make pizza crust, but you can buy it. We separate the crust[s] into 5 pieces [there are 5 of us], and then add cooked hamburger meat, cheese, veggies, sauce. Roll it into a sub sandwich or half circle shape and seal the edges with a little egg white or water and bake for 30 minutes.
We do
philly cheese steak flavor with hamburger, mozzarella and green peppers and onions.
bbq beef with hamburger, red onion, bbq sauce
leftover casserole with cheese
My favorite is leftover beef [hamburger] stew with jack cheese
You can do anything that you would for a pizza and roll it into a baked sandwich.

Try mini size calzone poppers, the kids love them. They are like the microwave pizza rolls, only more filling-AND They are freezer-friendly for quick snacks!!!!!!

Make your own stuffed pockets....Get some Pillsbury pizza dough cut it in half then in 4's if you like...

Cook your meat with all the seasonings your family likes..Then you add the meat and some good melting cheese and small amount of sauce(optional) Take a fork and pinch the ends of the pockets closed, Put them in the oven until golden brown... (follow the pizza crust directions) Serve with side salad...

i made mexican lasagna a few days ago. brown the meat and add the taco seasoning as usual. I bought a can of green chile to use as the sauce.

put some of the chile on the bottom of the pan
lay down no cook lasagna noodles
a layer of meat topped with some shredded cheese and then more of the chile
another layer of noodles
i made a layer of corn and black beans
more chile
more noodles
rest of the beef, more chile
last noodles, more chile
bake according to the heat and time directions on the noodles. at the last ten minutes i uncovered it and topped with more cheese and baked till it was bubbly.

it was really pretty good.

My Mom made this when I was a kid...
you need to like Sauerkraut

Ground beef
1 can sauerkraut
1 lg. can Tomato Sauce
1 cup cooked rice
1 med. size yellow onion
While the rice is cooking (I use Minute rice)
brown your ground beef , remove any fat from beef and in the diced onions saute until clear. Add the Sauerkraut (drain and rinse) and the tomato sauce stir then add the cooked rice.
Season to taste with salt and pepper...
takes about 15 minutes to make...

Enjoy

Mix the hamburger up into your favorite meatloaf recipe, then pack it into a muffin pan so each kid can have their own individual serving. It will obviously bake faster as well..
This is a tried-&-true idea!!!
