What is the difference between club soda and tonic water?!

Question: What about sparkleing water? Can I use them interchangably while cooking/baking??

Answers: What about sparkleing water? Can I use them interchangably while cooking/baking??

Club soda is carbonated water, no sugar, no flavor added. It is the same as sparkling water.
Tonic water is carbonated water with sugar and quinine. Quinine is a malaria treatment. Tonic water was developed by the British in India and Africa as a way to prevent malaria.
They are not interchangeable. Tonic water has a bitter taste.

Tonic water has flavoring and calories generally so it's not interchangeable with club soda or seltzer.

Essentially both club soda and seltzer are aerated waters -- i.e. fizzy. At one time, the sodium level was different but I would imagine that those lines are blurred. I would use either interchangeably except maybe in an egg cream

Club Soda and Sparkling water are the same thing. ie Tap water that has been carbonated. Mineral water is purified water that has been carbonated.

Tonic water however is carbonated water with sugar, flavourings and quinine added.

Hope this helps

Club soda is water with carbonation and no flavor. Tonic water is flavored with quinine

These are not interchangeable

Sparkling water may or may not have flavoring. Unflavored sparkling water is interchangeable with club soda
