What's the strangest food you've ever had deep fried?!
Answers: Grasshoppers & some kind of cactus bug, don't know what it was called. Looked a little like a roach. No, I wasn't drunk. In Mexico & trying the local cuisine. Actually they tasted a bit like crunchy bacon.
Fried sliced Dill Pickles. It's real good you should try it. I know it sounds weird but it's good. I've also had a fried snickers bar.
snickers bar...and pickles:) separately of course...
I can't beleive we wrote the same ChefMJ:)
I also ate alligator..but it tasted like chicken...so I would not consider it strange
twinkies no joke
The pancake thingys with the sausage in the middle. I didn't know it was gonna come that way, kinda weird, I didn't really like it.
Rocky Mountain Oysters - I used to work in a restaurant in Denver that had them on the menu. We had to slice and bread them while they were still frozen. Otherwise, if they thawed out, the smell was horrendous. (I have never eaten them. I've also done the pickles, twinkes on sticks and fried ice cream. I also fell in a fryer and burnt my foot so badly that I ended up in the hospital and had skin grafts).
Cheesecake. It wasn't too bad actually.
Alligator, it was really good actually. Also Crawdads, or crayfish as some call it. Good Luck and Happy Feasting!!
