Almonds instead of walnuts in fudge recipe?!

Question: I have a chocolate fudge recipe that calls for walnuts but I have almonds that I would like to use instead. Do you think that it would taste okay? I've used almonds instead of walnuts in a brownie recipe but I'm not sure because the almonds won't be baked as in the brownies, they'll be added in at the end of the cooking process.

If you do I would chop the almonds because they are a much harder nut. If you toast them in the over for a few minutes to bring out the natural flavor and oils. Then you can add them to the fudge, Good Luck.

It would be great!

Sure!

Almonds are better to me anyway.

They would be a great substitute.

That's the fun in cooking - customizing the recipe! As long as the almonds don't need to be cooked before you eat them it will be fine.

I love almonds...maybe add a drop or two of almond extract to the fudge to make the statement stronger.

absolutely fine! why would they need to be baked? I had a friend who was allergic to walnuts, so I stopped using them. I would substitute almonds or pecans....

I love nuts, all kinds but this doesnt sound good to me. I would try pecans maybe but not almonds, they're too hard compared to a soft walnut or pecan. Thats just my opinion.

YES...YES...YES...
Very Gooddddddddddd...............

I hate walnuts
I will only use pecans
as for almonds I buy sliced and blanch them..
as for your problems ...????

any nut substitutes for any other nut. I don't like peanuts or peanut butter. I make my own cashew butter when I can't find it.

Just do the subbing and it will work.

also use some almond extract if you have it instead of the vanilla.
