What's a good substitute for sake?!

Question: For a chicken teriyaki recipe.

Answers: For a chicken teriyaki recipe.

If you ask me red wine. It gives it a great sharp taste and keeps its color at the same time.

i'm not sure why it would call for sake in the first place... are you doing a reduction or something flambe?
Sake really has no flavor at all so unless you need the alcohol content to cook off you could really use anything. obviously the higher the proof the longer it takes to burn off or reduce...

if you just dont want any alcohol in the dish just leave it out.
