I never felt there was even such a thing as a good brownie,,,,,,,,,,,,,
I am not the type of person who endorses such activity, but cheating is the best way to go with such a traditional recipe. If you just take boxed brownies and cook them for 2 min less than the box says, you will have Delicious brownies. Add any sort of mix in you want, such as nuts or chocolate bits.
Believe it or not, brownies from a pre-prepared mix are just as good as homemade brownies if you do them right.
Follow the directions on the box, then pour this over them while they are fresh out of the oven:
Chocolate Frosting Recipe
Ingredients:
?1/2 c. of cocoa
?1/3 c. of milk
?1 1/2 tsp. of vanilla
?6 tbsp. of softened butter
?2 2/3 c. of confectioners' sugar
Directions
1. First you need to add butter to a bowl and cream it.
2. The next thing to do is add sugar and cocoa and mix.
3. Now add in the milk slowly, mixing the whole time.
4. Then add in the vanilla, mixing also.
5. Finally, you are ready to add the frosting to your hot brownies.
The trick is the consistency of the frosting. You need it to be pourable, while at the same time it should not be too watery. Dip your finger in it to see how fast it runs down your finger. If it drips right off, it's too liquidy. If it stands still and does not move at all, it's too thick. (Add ingredients to fix the problem accordingly.)
Pour the frosting on top of the sheet of brownies immediately, while they are hot. You should not use a knife or spatula to spread the frosting. Hold the pan in both hands with potholders and gently shake it so that the frosting moves across the top. This will give your brownies a nice, smooth, nearly impossible surface area that no one will be able to figure out. When the frosting gets near the edges, stop manipulating the pan, even if it hasn't reached the very edge of the pan. (You can cut the excess off and eat it yourself.)
Since you took advantage of the heat of the fresh brownies to add the frosting on top, it will be impossible to tell where the brownies end and the frosting begins.
These are wonderful, especially if there are walnuts in the brownies.
Toffee Brownies
1 (17 5/8 ounce) package walnut brownie mix
vegetable oil
water
egg
3 (6 ounce) chocolate bars with almonds and toffee (recommended ( Symphony brand)
Prepare the brownie mix according to package directions.
Line a 13 by 9-inch cake pan with aluminum foil and spray with vegetable oil cooking spray. Spoon in half of the brownie batter and smooth with a spatula or the back of a spoon. Place the candy bars side by side on top of the batter. Cover with the remaining batter.
Bake according to package directions. Let cool completely, then lift from the pan using the edges of the foil. This makes it easy to cut the brownies into squares.
