Non-stick pan and Grill?!

Question: I’ve recently seen a receipt where you use non-stick fry pan on the stove first cook onions and other ingrediants and then the receipt asked to move the non-stick fry fan to open grill and place it about 10cm below the iron bar. The though of putting a non-stick pan to grill make me nervous. Can non-stick pan really be ‘grilled’ without releasing its harmful chemicals?

Thank you!

Non stick pans are overrated. You don't NEED one, it does not change how the food will cook. I use Calphalon pans, they are not "non stick" and I use them all the time for recipes that call for "nonstick" pans. However, if you are so inclined, the nonstick pan will be fine on the grill, as it would on the stove.

I wouldn't imagine it to be a problem.
I don't think I'd feel safe putting my pan on the grill either, but only because I wouldn't want to harm the pan. ;)
As long as it is an over-proof pan, I don't see why you couldn't use it on the grill.

The safest thing to do in this unsure world of chemically treated pans and such is just to make sure the food does not stick to your stomach , so before you eat it , just open wide and spray Pam down your throat,,,,,,,,,,,,, no wait ,,,, and if that does not work then try adding butter to all of your food in large amounts , it is awesome in coffee..... and of course I am always on a diet,
