Here are a lot of recipes using tumeric. If you search for Indian cuisine, they use tumeric a lot as well.

.

And yes, Tumeric has health benefits:

Vitabase turmeric contains Curcumin C3 Complex?, a clinically studied source of curcuminoids.
Standardized to 95% curcuminoids – 475mg per capsule.
Known for its anti-inflammatory properties.
May be useful for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Easy-to-swallow vegetarian capsules.
Doctor approved formulation.

has been used in connection with the following conditions and symptoms:
Digestive disorders - Curcumin, one of the active ingredients in turmeric, induces the flow of bile, which breaks down fats. Extracts of turmeric root inhibited gastric secretion and protected against injuries caused by medications such as indomethacin and reserpine in an animal study. Further studies are needed to confirm these effects in humans.
Arthritis - Curcumin is an anti-inflammatory agent that relieves the aches and pains associated with arthritis.
Cardiovascular conditions
Cancer Turmeric has shown to decrease symptoms of skin cancers and reduced the incidence of chemically caused breast cancer in lab animals.
Bacterial infection - The herb's volatile oil functions as an external antibiotic, preventing bacterial infection in wounds.

The following are recommended adult doses:
Standardized powder (curcumin): 400 to 600 mg three times daily
Tincture (1:2): 3 to 5 mL three times per day

TURMERIC, pH BALANCING, CLEANING SUPPLIES, COLLOIDAL SILVER
3/9/2008: Laurie from Sunnydale, Florida writes: "My family has had MRSA 21 times. I have gotten rid of MRSA myself on my own body 3 times without taking antibiotics but found turmeric alone did not work the 3rd time. I also used a magnesium supplement- natural Calm.

The ph info I have read on MRSA makes a lot of sense to me.following this principal i have also used borax in the laundry and epsom salts(magneisium) and baking soda in the bath. We use Mr. Clean multi surface to clean with as it states on the back of the cleaner it kills MRSA most cleaners don't - i know this is not a natural remedy but i have a daugter with Cystic Fibrosis and must kill other germs in my home also- I have read that clorox wipes do not kill mrsa we were using these in the begining of our outbreaks. My child with CF I have not been able to cure with natural remedies. I think turmeric tastes horrid -- kudos to you who drink it in tea. I have purchased the capsules for those of us who can swallow pills. For my younger children i have found a liquid version at the health food store just yesterday - they can not taste it in chocolate milk. I also cook with the spice. it is great in chicken salad and on a roast. The natural remedies we are now practicing in our home have definitely helped reduce the break outs but it is still not gone. I have just purchased colliodal silver supplement. As I just read about that having good results. I have posted my families story on MRSA notes. I beieve in natural cures but also know this is a bad bug and would not recommend waiting too long to seek a doctors help if you do not get immediate results with the natural cure. Good luck to all that are fighting MRSA!"

MRSA REMEDIES: TURMERIC, BAKING SODA, SEA SALT AND RAW POTATO- SUCCESS!
9/18/2007: Christine from Melbourne, Florida writes: "My son was dx with MRSA on his hip last month, from an abrasion. Rather than go through the drugs the dr wanted to give him, I decided to give the turmeric a try first since I have friends who have almost died, been hospitalized for up to 18 days and, now, two that had to have amputations because of MRSA. The pediatrician was not happy, but grudglingly went along. For the first 4 days I made a paste of tumeric, baking soda and sea salt. On the 5th day, under the advice of a friend, I grated a raw potato and put the gratings on the wound for about 30 min. We never got another drop of pus out of the MRSA wound. We countinued the paste for 2 more days, and it has healed up beautifully!!!

Have you researched that fact? I've dealt with alot of people who have MRSA and that sounds a bit absurd, at least I have never heard of it. As far as recipes, I'm not sure I know any that are focused around it, but you can add tumeric to whatever you like. I know tumeric is common in ethnic spices such as Adobo, which is a great spice and can be used in almost anything. I hope you get better with the MRSA. Good Luck

90% of Indian food have turmeric as one of the main ingredients....we use a lot of it.
Try searching for Indian curry/meat recipes, paneer (cottage cheese) or even vegetarian recipes online...
We also take turmeric in small amounts mixed with a glass of milk..tastes lovely and is good for the cold...

It is good for that and arthirtis, another is fenugreek seeds made into a tea, and if you have an Indian are or market in town, they may have fresh tumeric root, dried is fine, fenugreek seeds and fresh fenugreek leaves, in dishes with chickpeas which are good for diabetics as they are low glucemic and do not raise the blood sugar levels.

With fresh turmeric, it looks like a tiny fresh ginger root, and is an orangey colour, the fresh fenugreek look alot like a funky spinach, the seeds are no problem to find, either cooked into food or the seeds and freah turmeric made into a tea, the dried can be also, I use 2 tablespoons of fenugreek seeds and a tablespoon of fresh grated turmeric, and let in soak overnight cover in boiling water, with the dried use 2 tablepoons.

Coronation Chicken- mix mayonnaise, garamasala spices, a LITTLE splash of tobasco sauce and tumeric together then add some chopped cooked skinless chicken and mix in. With using the tumeric just keep adding till it turns a dark yellow colour, use as much as you feel necessary really. I like loads! lol. You can have Coronation Chicken in a salad or in sandwiches, is great either way. xxx

This is a very good fake chicken broth with tumeric in it. It tastes just like chicken broth. You can buy the nutritional yeast at health food stores (it is not bread baking yeast). You can drink this as a hot broth drink (like tea).
